Changing Education Abroad
Our organization began by providing educational aid to distressed immigrants and their communities domestically. An issue that we recognized early on was that by the time students were in this country, they had already often suffered from the adversity of having to learn everything firsthand with no support or help. Seeing this, Axcelero decided to set its sights on the source: abroad.
Within the last year, we have analyzed the demographics of students we help and have begun initiatives in the origin countries of our most numerously represented nationalities: Nigeria, Kenya, Italy, Ireland, and India. As we speak to more individuals and branch out in our offerings while gaining more resources, we are looking to continue our expansion worldwide at a gradual but steady rate.
Through this initiative, our hopes are twofold. As a primary motive, our team is optimistic that providing informational resources abroad will help students who are about to begin the journey of immigration and all that it entails. Secondly, we hope to minimize what we call the ‘immigrant education downtime’ which we have observed through talking to countless students. This refers to the break in education created by the time it takes students to reorient themselves in their new environment both culturally and financially. By possessing information, this downtime is avoided through streamlining the path and making it more straightforward.
One student at a time, we will reach across the world.
